As we know that cyber crimes on social networking sites such as Facebook,Twitter,Google+,etc are increasing at higher rates,an Israel-based start-up has developed an App which is called FakeOff.This app helps to identify that accounts which are not real or fake to avoid cyber crimes. This app also protects real Facebook users to get screwed from fake Facebook users.

According to latest reports there are at least 10 percent of about 1.35 billion Facebook users who are not real. There are billions of users who create and access fake Facebook accounts, said "Fake Off creator Eliran Shachar".

Fake profiles are composed of different groups including criminals, commercial and psychological, that can risk reputations (identity theft), children (paedophiles and sexual abuse), property (home break-ins) and personal safety,
Shachar added.

Fake Off app uses a criteria to look into behaviour of friends and gives them a rank according to 1-10 credibility score. It scans day to day timeline activity of Facebook user, what he is doing. This app allows to check the abnormal behaviour of user.Fake Off has been live for two months now and has over 15,000 users so far, Shachar said.

About 24 % of investigations conducted in this app return as fake. A fake profile can be very complex and some of the fakes that we help the users find is only for their eyes so we can't know the final result from the photo scan results, but the user easily can,"
Shachar said.

About 14.3 crore Facebook accounts are fake, with a major bit of them coming from developing markets like India and Turkey. The firm said it estimates up to 7.9 per cent accounts being duplicate and up to 2.1 per cent and up to 1.2 per cent accounts being user-misclassified and un-desirable.
